BECK’S History of Non-Alcoholic Beer Production

Kaiser-Brauerei Beck & May o.H.G. was founded by Bremen-based master brewer Lüder Rutenberg, master brewer Heinrich Beck, and businessman F.G. Thomas on June 27, 1873. The Kaiserbrauerei, or “Imperial Brewery,” has always packaged its beer in green long-neck bottles. The other beers, which were only offered in brown bottles, were distinguished from the Kaiserbier by this.

The company received a gold medal from the later Emperor Friedrich III at the international agricultural exhibition in Bremen, which is still displayed on the label today.

Beck developed a smooth pilsner beer that kept its flavorful freshness even after being shipped large distances. In its first year, the beer was already being delivered to the Dutch East Indies, which is today Indonesia. All the ships of Norddeutscher Lloyd were entirely fueled by the Kaiserbrauerei – these distributed the beer’s name all over the world. It was in demand in port cities all over the world by 1886.

Steel barrels were created by Beck & Co. to take the place of wooden barrels lined with pitch. As a result, proprietors of drinking facilities obtained fresh, pure pilsner-tasting draft beer.

The Second World War brought production to a complete halt, and it only slowly began to resume after the war. The first crates were shipped to Thailand from Bremen as early as 1948. In order to lessen exposure to the risks of international markets, BECK’S was initially sold in its home market in 1949.

In 1953, BECK’S introduced their pilsner in cans for the first time, following the American pattern. The fresh pilsner flavor also came through without alcohol due to the creative coupling of a unique mixing procedure and delicate vacuum distillation. BECK’S Alkoholfrei was deemed the most successful new launch in 1993 by German businessmen.

BECK’S Non-Alcoholic Beer Options

Contrary to conventional beer, non-alcoholic beer contains only minute levels of alcohol. Although non-alcoholic beer has a bad record for being tasteless, both its selection and quality have improved recently!

In most cases, non-alcoholic beer contains gluten unless otherwise stated, and some brands also produce vegan ones. The majority of N/A craft beers strive to taste as much like your preferred beer as they can, despite the widespread misperception that they are brewed from different ingredients.

Non-alcoholic beer can improve your health if you drink less. Reduced alcohol use has various health advantages, including lessening cancer risk and liver damage. However, N/A beer isn’t precisely a health drink or low-carb alternative because it often has a higher sugar content than standard beers.
