Non-Alcoholic New Year's Eve Punch

This non-alcoholic NYE punch goes by many names, and there are similar recipes on different sites. We love this NYE mocktail because it incorporate sweet pineapple juice, tart cranberry juice, and spicy cloves, which we think is the best part.
Course Drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (64 fluid ounces) unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1 bottle (64 fluid ounces) cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail
  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tbsp whole cloves
  • 4 4 inch cinnamon sticks, broken
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For cold punch:

  • Optional Garnish: Cinnamon rim, rock candy, sprig of fresh thyme, cranberry

Instructions

  • Pour the water, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice into a coffee percolator that has been thoroughly cleaned.
  • Assemble the coffee percolator and add the salt, brown sugar, cloves, and cinnamon sticks to the basket.
  • Cover, connect the cord, and strain. Serve warm.

If you want to ditch the percolator:

  • Put all of your ingredients in a crockpot or simmer over the stove in a stock pot. Use a dutch oven if you're going for presentation.

Make this a cold punch:

  • Follow the crockpot recipe, refrigerate 4 hours or over night.
  • Add 12 ounces orange or cranberry sparkling water or ginger ale.
  • Run an orange wedge around the rim of the glasses. Dip the rim in brown sugar or sugar in the raw.
  • Garnish with a brown sugar rim or rock candy.
